Dr. Juan Pablo Peña-Rosas serves as the Head of the Global Health Initiatives (cross-cutting) team, Office of the Director, Department of Nutrition and Food Safety, and has served senior-level positions at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, Switzerland since 2008. He has also worked as a senior officer in the WHO Special Program of Primary Health Care. Currently, he is a member of the WHO Innovation Network, Disabilities Network, and the WHO Gender Equity and Rights Network. He is passionate about the advancement of public health epidemiology and innovative methods for policymaking to improve global maternal, newborn and child health and nutrition. He has led, co-led, and contributed to over 60 WHO evidence-informed global policy options with state-of-the-art methodology for guideline development and supported their implementation through people-centered integrated care in primary health care.
