Dr. Tivani Mashamba-Thompson is an internationally trained Molecular Biology Medical Scientist Registered by the HPCSA. An NRF-rated Professor of Diagnostics Research and Deputy Dean of Research and Postgraduate Studies for the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Pretoria. She is the founder and lead PI for REASSURED-d@UP research group and a University of Pretoria lead PI for the Africa-Europe Multimorbidity Cluster of Excellence. She serves as a Deputy Chair of South Africa’s National Health Research Committee, a non-executive board member of the South Africa’s National Health Laboratory Services (NHLS) as a Deputy Chairperson of the NHLS Research and Innovation Committee.
